Conservation / Heritage Architect
The pathSkills
You restore and conserve historic buildings and heritage sites. The work is mission-driven and specialist, usually needs a PG in architectural conservation, and pays modestly at entry. Employers include the ASI, heritage NGOs, and specialist consultancies; serious practice requires AMASAR Act, ASI/NMA clearance, and heritage-documentation fluency.

Common questions
Modest at entry, and the broader market is grant/trust constrained. Senior consultancy and ASI-linked roles pay reasonably, but ₹30L+ should be treated as an outlier rather than the normal ceiling.
